Alchemy: Contemporary Jewellery from Britain (2007) was a British Council touring exhibition, which presented UK jewellery practice in the Middle East Region. The exhibition began in Oman, then travelled to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.

My work for this project investigated interpretations of value, through a combination of material, historical and symbolic juxtapositions within artefacts. I also explored the potential narratives associated with objects in or from specific contexts, by utilising unfamiliar components within familiar forms.

A parallel programme of workshops and seminars to took place in each country looking at a broad range of themes associated with jewellery. I was asked to write and deliver workshops in Yemen and the United Arab Emirates.

A catalogue of the exhibition is available (ISBN: 0863555837).
